Erika Li is an experienced conference interpreter and certified court interpreter based in Toronto Canada, and serving clients from all over the world.
She first engaged in interpreting in 2018 shortly after she has her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of British Columbia. Having spent three years working in legal and later in consulting industry, she was still drawn to her passion in interpreting. In 2023 she successfully obtained her Master’s degree in Conference Interpreting from Glendon College of York University(MCI), the only interpreting school that offers Chinese <> English program in Canada.
Shortly after obtaining her degree, she became a certified court interpreter in British Columbia and a fully accredited court interpreter in Ontario. Her journey as a court interpreter began in late 2021, and her experience has covered all aspects in different proceedings, from lawyer-client meetings to sentencing and judgement. She is well-experienced in all types of legal matters, including civil, family, immigration, tax, criminal, real estate, tenancy and traffic matters.
As a Chinese <> English conference interpreter, she has been interpreting at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) since 2022. She also provided simultaneous interpreting for Air Canada, Grant Thornton, LPGA, Soy Canada and other business delegations from China. Her interpreting experience touches a variety of industries including but not limited to, banking, business and finance, technology, agriculture, materials(insulation and packaging) and education.
Aside from being an interpreter, she is also a Chinese calligraphy artist, collaborating with luxury brands such as Loro Piana, Brunello Cucinelli and Shangri-la.
